Andaman and Nicobar Islands comprise of different islands namely, North Andaman, Middle Andaman, South Andaman, Baratang, Little Andaman and Car Nicobar.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands together are one of the seven union territories of India and situated right at the southern edge of Bay of Bengal the two islands Nicobar and Andaman meet forming an arc. 1. Neil Island ( 36 Kms by sea from Port Blair)
Neil Island is a beautiful island with white sandy beaches and green forests. It is also known as the vegetable bowl of Andaman because green vegetables are cultivated here giving it a green appearance. This beautiful island with lush green forests and silver sandy beaches is connected by water transport to Port Blair, offering boating to all the eco-friendly tourists. One can experience absolute tranquility at the beaches of this island. The beaches like Laxmanpur, Bharatpur and Sitapur are highly popular. Many tourist visit this place to enjoy the hammocks under the shady trees.
2. Havelock Island situated 62 Kms via Neil Island (50 Kms from Port Blair by sea )
Havelock Island is entirely covered with green canopy of the rain-fed forests. It allows everyone to take a deep look at the blue sea. You will come across many beaches such as Vijay Nagar beach which is about 5Kms and Elephant beach which is about 10Kms from the Jetty. There are some magnificent beaches on the north western part of some of the islands here. Those interested in trekking can also enjoy it. The Tourism Department has made required arrangement for the accommodation with tents at Radha Nagar Beach where every tourist can enjoy the sound of waves resting in these camps. They also provide private hotel accommodation for the tourists making their stay comfortable. Boating and scuba diving facilities are other attractions that one can enjoy.
3. Radhanagar Beach
This is one of the best beaches in Asia as rated by the Time Magazine with an outstanding quality having a vast area of about 2 kilometers in length and about 40 meters in width. The beach looks more attractive with the widespread fine white sand.

4. Vijaynagar Beach
The speciality of this beach is that it is surrounded by mahua trees which have horizontally growing trunks for a pretty long distance before they grow up vertically. These trees spread across providing shade that ,too, very close to the sea. It is good for the people who prefer to go for long walks. On this beach you can find Dolphin Resort run by the Tourism department.
5. Elephant Beach
The other attractive beach is Elephant Beach which is about at a 40 minutes walking distance from Radha Nagar. You can reach there by small boat from Havelock Jetty in 40 minutes. The main attraction is the amazing rich coral reef formation and the marine life to experience under water. There are private ferry operators who organize tours for the visitors from Havelock to elephant Beach
6. Long Island (102 Kms from Port Blair by sea)
You can visit this island four times a week from Port Blair by sea. You can enjoy wonderful sandy beaches surrounded by evergreen forests and this beach is popularly known as Lalaji Bay Beach. Long Island can be reached by using waterways from different Jetties close to Baratang Island.
7. Baratang Island (100 Kms from Port Blair by road)
If you want to enjoy the picturesque view to carry back home then you need to visit the Parrot island (Baratang Island) at sunset where you can see hoards of parrots flocking together back to their nest. Such views are really exclusive ones and can stay in your memory throughout your life. It is located between Middle and South Andaman with many beaches, mud-volcanoes and mangrove creeks. The island between South and Middle Andaman is surrounded with beautiful beaches, mangrove creeks, limestone caves and mud-volcanoes.
